Fall Fashion "Needs"

Now that fall temperates are finally here, I've been noticing what I'm missing from my wardrobe for the cooler weather. Some are not really "needs" but more of wants just because with the weather, my taste is changing or I've worn out other items. Here's my short list of items I want/need for fall...
1. Wine Expedition Coat, OneStopPlus | 2. Foldover Combat Boots, Wet Seal | 3. Wrap Bracelet, asos
4. Lace Front Sweater, Maurices | 5. Knitted Tube Scarf, H&M | 6. Floral Headband, Aeropostale
7. Cartography Course Ring, ModCloth | 8. Skinny Jeans, Collective Habit
1. A fun, fitted, jacket. I love love love coats and have recently found the perfect army jacket that I feel like I've been looking for forever. So now I'm on the hunt for something with the military structure, but a cute feel to it and I think this coat from OneStopPlus is perfect. And I just love this wine color for fall.

2. Black combat boots. (Seriously a military vibe going on here!) I have a pair of tan combat boots but have been struggling to pair them with a lot of my wardrobe recently because they are so light, so I think a black pair would even that out. These ones are from Wet Seal and I love the floral pattern on the fold over part.

3. Leather cuff! I recently retired by beloved leather cuff because a snap on it broke. So I'm looking for one, preferably a double strapped one so it's not so similar to the one I used to have.

4. Sweaters. Honestly, who can have enough? I love this one from Maurices because of the lace front, it really gives it a great extra texture and makes it fun and different.

5. Plain knit scarf. I have a lot of pattern scarves and not a lot of really warm scarves. So having a neutral, cozy scarf is a necessity.

6. Headbands. I'm really loving headband looks recently and for some reason, tend to wear my hair up a lot in the fall so they help to style my bun head.

7. Rings! My newest obsession is wearing a bunch of them at the same time and recently got some lovely ones from ModCloth that I cannot wait to show off here.

8. Jeans, especially skinny jeans! I love skinny jeans anyway and it just makes so much sense in the fall and winter because they easily can be worn under boots.

What items are you in need of to complete your fall wardrobe?

Chels Wears: Lips & Love

Sweater: Old Navy | Blazer: Boscov's | Lips Scarf & Black Skinny Jeans: WalMart
Red Heels: Wet Seal | Bow Ring: Charlotte Russe

Guys, I cannot pay attention about what to write because I keep staring back at the TV because of the Olympics. They make snow look cool and fun to play in! Except then I go out and realize that they must be freezing over in Sochi. Anyway, I think I like the winter games more because I actually watch more of the events, but that is the only reason I like winter haha

This outfit is, quite obviously, Valentine's Day inspired. And yes, there are shoulder pads in this blazer, because I don't mind a strong looking shoulder. Thank you Lady Gaga for bringing back the large shoulder look. Also, I bought these heels in Georgia in 2009 during a Habitat for Humanity trip. What? Yeah that happened, and I love them. Also, lips on my scarf? Yes, please - how could I not make this Valentine's outfit with great love-based items like these in my closet? How are you all dressing for the season?

Chels Wears: Remixed Hipster Grunge

Pants: WalMart | Chambray & Cardigan: JCPenney | T-Shirt: Mumford & Sons
Scarf: WalMart | Fork Ring: Festival | Telephone Necklace: Wet Seal | Leather Cuff Bracelet: Charlotte Russe
Shoes: Payless (Brash)

I'm not really sure if I'd consider this look to be really "hipster" or "grunge" but it's certainly remixed. If you look at previous Chels Wears posts, specifically, Double DIY and Breaking Fashion Rules, you can pretty much come up with this outfit and I thought this basically condemned building in town made for the perfect backdrop. Please excuse the pile of trash that I am clearly offended by in the first picture.

I wore this to see the War of the Worlds show at Bricolage (which by the way, you still have a chance to win tickets to: see how here) last Thursday and it was freeeeeezing. I had my trusty photographer (my dad) take these as I was on my way to the show and wished that I remembered to grab a coat before leaving, but alas, I froze instead. In case you were wondering, the later half of fall has certainly arrived here in Western Pennsylvania, which I am not a fan of since it leads to winter. The season I love to hate. Looks like it is time to stock up on some desperately needed new boots. Four Pittsburgh winters will certainly test the quality of your footwear and after last year, basically all of my boots have had more than enough.

Chels Wears: Dressy Black & Gold

Rooney's Shirt: Grand Scheme PGH | Skirt: Vera Wang | Vest: New York & Co.
Booties: Target | Mixed Bracelets: Charlotte Russe & Walmart | Metallic Purse: Wet Seal | Necklace: Forever 21

If you read my most recent post for On Her Game this week then you know that I missed the Monday night full of Pittsburgh sports (the Steelers, Penguins and Pirates all had games) because I had to work. This outfit was my way of showing my Pittsburgh sports pride while still being work-appropriate.

Over the summer, I saw a lot of fashion bloggers dressing up the graphic tee and I thought this would be the perfect outfit to test this trend out for and I have to say I love it! I also love that the high school football field is so close to my house because it made getting these pictures before running to work super convenient too! But note to self, do not wear heels in the grass again. I should have known better. Also, if you remember, this is the Vera Wang skirt that I got at Goodwill and this is the shirt I was wearing when I met Franco Harris.... double holler!

Chels Wears: Matchy-Matchy Love

Vintage Fork Ring: Festival | Belt: Urban Outfitters | Sunglasses: Brash | Phone Necklace: Wet Seal
Maxi Skirt: DIY | Vest: Old/Unknown | LOVE Tank: Wet Seal | Shoes: Charlotte Russe
I hate myself for being so match-matchy with this look, but the more I look at these pictures, the more I become okay with it. And this outfit matches my "blog theme" although that might annoy me after awhile. Oh well. These photos were taken at the electrical power plant in Ellwood City, the same plant that had some major issues not too long ago which left EC without electricity for about 14 hours. I'm sure if you follow my personal Twitter account, you heard me complain about that for about 13 of those hours.

I had originally thought about this outfit with a Marilyn Monroe graphic t-shirt I have and then when I was looking for it, I realized that it, along with about half of my wardrobe, is in storage from when I moved. Boo. But I did find this tank that I thought I gave away and am now glad I did not! I remember buying this with MJ, he likes it because the back has an awesome lace detail (sorry you cannot see it because I'm wearing a vest) and I like it because it says LOVE on the front. Awe. I also bought this telephone necklace in that same shopping trip, which MJ hates. Who says I can only wear clothing and accessories that my boyfriend actually likes? That is lame and I would probably have to give a lot of stuff away if that were the case! That is the one good thing about a "long distance relationship" - I wear what I want and don't have to hear him complain about it :) I'm sure he does the same too.
