Chels Wears: Green Dress & Blue Tights

Dress and tights: Target | Shoes: Kmart | Scarf: Walmart | Jacket: Deb

It is finally warm outside! When the tempurature broke to 20 degrees I thought I was going to burst so now that it's around 40 I cannot even talk about how happy I am. If only it will stick around!

How great is the color of this dress? I bought this for the combined graduation party that Eric and I had for when we both got our Masters, and I still love it more than most items in my closet. Unfortunately I have not worn it that often because I feel like it's feels very spring time and it is not often bright and gorgeous out around Erie. But it felt like the perfect item to wear when the sun was shining and the day was longer on Sunday. In yesterday's post I talked about losing 25 pounds and now I realize that you cannot really tell in these pictures either because of my coat so hopefully soon I'll be able to show you guys for real and not have to wear a coat. Fingers crossed!

Chels Wears: Skirts in the Snow

Skirt: Thrift Shop | Shoes: Kmart | Shirt: JCPenney | Jacket: Deb | Scarf: WalMart
Oh look, guys, I'm not properly dressed for the temperature again. Imagine that. I just hate snow too much to let it ruin my fashion plans, though I wish my legs weren't so white, holy cow. It was actually fairly "warm" when we took these photos. Like 25 degrees or something that felt decently warm. Erie is a confusing place to live around this time.

This is the first time this skirt has ever made an appearance. Well, that's not totally true. I got it at a thrift shop back home over a year ago and it (along with one other) have been hanging in my closet waiting to be worn by me since. I'm just not normally a midi skirt kind of person. I'm usually maxi or mini so this length has been a weird one for me to decide to wear. But I'm thinking I like it! I'll have to pull out that other thrift shop skirt that I got with this one because I'm really liking this look and I really am surprised by that. I wore this on Sunday to church. I really only decided to go with this skirt at the last minute because I didn't feel like wearing tights and didn't want to wear a maxi. (I always wear a skirt or dress to church, I feel weird when I don't.) So this skirt was the winner...long enough to not really need tights and short enough to not be considered a maxi. Maybe it's time to embrace the midi?

What's your favorite skirt length?

Chels Wears: Floral Fringe Kimono

Kimono & Purse: Target | Pants & Scarf: Walmart | Ring: Flea Market | Wedges: Kmart | Tank: JCPenney's
I have become obsessed with kimonos recently, but hasn't everyone? I'm so glad that they are back on trend because I love flowy clothes that still keep you dressed up and comfortable. I got this one at Target and it has become my favorite. I like that it's dark, which makes it a fall/winter piece, but it's floral, which apparently makes it for spring/summer as well. I can tell that I'll be remixing this one for all seasons and you guys are going to have to just go along with it.

And while I don't really like to re-wear exact outfits, I will admit that I have worn this look before...except for the shoes. I wore this look with my lace up boots, that I probably wear too much, to go out to brunch with my mom when I was back home for my cousin's wedding in October but I thought these wedges would give it a little more sophistication. I really like how it turned out and I felt very chic in it all day. So wedges for the win.

Any new pieces to your closet that you're absolutely loving?

Chels Wears: Pinterest Inspired Vintage

Today I am linking up with H&K Style Journey for the weekly link-up, Pinned It Did It. With the other two Pinterest inspired posts I did, I didn't do a fashion pin so I figured it was time to do so. After not feeling like getting dressed at all since I was working from home and didn't have anywhere to go, I decided to turn to my style board for some inspiration and this pin was the only one that seemed like a good idea with a limited amount of effort needed.

Left: Original Pin | Right: Me

Sweater: Vintage | Leggings, Scarf & Leg Warmers: Walmart | Wedges: Kmart
As you can see, I went brighter with my color choices and wore thick leggings instead of just tights. I feel like I look like I'm going to a PITT game or something with the color choices but that's okay. This sweater was actually my moms from way back in the day and it is the most comfy sweater I own. Thanks, Mama! This look was super comfy but with the wedges made me feel dressy, so I was still in a work mode while staying low-key overall. What do you guys think of this look?

Chels Wears: Firmoo In Red (& A Giveaway)

Sweater & Bracelets: Charlotte Russe | White top: Kmart | Pants: delia's | Shoes: KANDALS | Necklace: Urban Outfitters

You guys! It was a balmy 40 degrees here yesterday afternoon! It quickly went back into the teens in the later afternoon, but around lunchtime, when we took these pictures, it was 40ish. It was rainy and warm(ish) so I was allowing my ankles to see the light of day and went with a little cuff to my red skinnies. Have I mentioned how much I love these pants? They are seriously my favorite. If they weren't so obviously bright red, I'd probably try to get away with wearing them even more than I do.

Today's outfit was entirely based around my new glasses from Firmoo. Now, I know I have mentioned my love for glasses recently and being given these bright beauties in the mail was exciting. I actually do not like the color red, but every time I wear it I'm told it's "my color" so why not look my best, right? I'm slightly disappointed in the size of these frames, for some reason I thought they'd be a bit larger, which has become more of my style, but I still really like the way they look on me. And if you're not looking closely, the red sides would surprise you, which is always fun for me. These frames are also extremely comfortable. For someone who loves glasses but does not wear them on a daily basis, it's sometimes hard for me to adjust to wearing them, but I had no problem with these frames like I have had with some others.

And for those of you who are looking into getting some new frames, here's your chance to win some! Firmoo is giving FIVE of my readers a pair to have, you only have to pay for shipping! Not a bad deal when it comes to how expensive glasses can be. So check out the frames Firmoo has to offer and good luck in trying win a pair for yourself!

This is a sponsored post, I received these glasses as a gift, but all opinions are my own.

Chels Wears: The Blues

Scarf & Chambray: Walmart | Ring: Charlotte Russe | Vest: Boscov's | Pants: Target | Shoes: Kmart

I'm not sure if you can tell by my total lack of enthusiasm in these photos or by my multiple shades of blue, but I'm so over winter. Eric and I took these pictures on the front steps of the house, notice all that show around my feet? Yeah, we don't usually use these steps, just wanted to show you the amount of snow we've got in the past week. I've had enough! On the bright side...29 days until spring.

To be real honest, the only reason I needed to leave the house yesterday was to grab a couple ingredients from the grocery store for our dinner, so we're lucky I even have real pants on. Those of you who know me "in real life" know that I never wear sweatpants in public, and it's so awful right now, I almost broke my own rule when I went to return movies to Family Video last night. But, I just couldn't bring myself to do that, so pulling on jeans real quick felt like a serious chore. 29 days, 29 days, 29 days, 29 days...

Chels Wears: 50 Shades of Pink!

Shirt & shoes: Kmart | Pants & Scarf: Walmart | Purse: Target | Jacket: Boscov's

Welcome back to tundra, folks! There is a high of 9 degrees up here today. These pictures were taken on Sunday when the high was about 4 degrees so I guess I cannot complain. I have to say that I don't really think this outfit "goes" together, but I love each of the pieces. This shirt has become one of my all time favorites, because it feels so feminine and goes with everything, and you guys should just expect to see these shoes more often than not. I'm obsessed. Any pieces you're absolutely loving recently?

Chels Wears: Mockingjay & Pop of Red

Mockingjay pin: WalMart | Ring: Charlotte Russe | White blouse & wedges: Kmart | Red skinny jeans: delia's

Versions of this outfit are my go-to looks for winter. I got this sweater freshman year of college for Christmas (so I don't have a clue where it's from) and didn't really consider liking it until about a year later. See, sometimes it's okay to let things you're not sure about sit in your closet for a little bit! I now love this sweater and probably wear it during the winter months more than I should, but now that the Aztec prints are on trend, why not!?

Also, these are currently my favorite shoes, in case you haven't noticed me wearing them in my last outfit post as well - sorry not sorry in advance for how much you'll probably be seeing them in future outfit posts. They are just the perfect wedges and are so comfortable and versatile. And while I usually opt for just a plain t-shirt under this sweater, I thought I'd dress it up a little more by pairing it with this flowy blouse that I scooped up from Kmart. By the way, surprisingly, Kmart has a lot of great clothes right now. I kind of wrote this store off for awhile, but if you haven't been there recently, I suggest you get to your nearest one for some great clothes at seriously low prices. I got these shoes there too!

Oh, and this mocking jay pin. Shut. Up. I love it. I'm not a die-hard Hunger Games fan, I have yet to read the books and I've only seen the first movie, but I do like the story so far (don't ruin it for me!) and think the fashion in the movie is so inspiring and honestly innovative. It's also refreshing to see a young female character kicking some serious butt and not letting people control her, and of course...Jennifer Lawrence. Anyway, when I saw this pin in WalMart and on sale for only a dollar (!!!) I had to have it. And yes, look forward to seeing more mocking jay inspired looks on Friday for Fashion Forward Fridays. What are your go-to items to wear in the winter?
