Chels Wears: Winter Maxi

Chambray: WalMart | White Shirt: JCPenney | Maxi: DIY | Flats: Urban Outfitters
To those of you who are also fashion bloggers, props to you if it is freezing outside while you take your pictures. I took these in about two seconds because it was so cold outside and all I wanted to do was go back into the house. Along with that, the only sensible way to wear a maxi in the colder temps is with leggings underneath. Thank God for the unseen leggings in these pictures.

I wore this look to church and then to work on Sunday and have to say that it was just dressy enough while still being super comfortable that I could wear it all day. And honestly, since moving to the tundra, comfort and "dressy enough" has pretty much been how you could describe all of my outfits. But maybe with this little warm spell we're supposed to get this weekend I'll be able to step it up again!

  1. Love chambray shirts and maxi's! I don't think I could pull off a winter maxi in Chicago.. the bottom would be covered in slush after taking two steps out the door haha!

    1. Thanks, Katie! I had to wait until the snow melted completely over here to be able to try it out. So I guess I'm thankful that it was "just" freezing out haha

  2. Kudos to you for getting out in the cold to take these pics girl! So smart that you wore leggings underneath your maxi! I would've just worn the maxi and complained all day about being cold haha :)

  4. This looks amazing on you Chelsea! I love the knotted chambray top in front. It's definitely inspiring for spring! And yes, I don't know how you go outside to do photos wearing such light layers. It's like 40 something over here and I'm cold! LOL. I need coats coats and more coats! Haha! <3

    1. Thanks, Toni! And you'll get used to it! It was 40ish here yesterday and I was wearing a 3-quarter length sleeve and felt so unseasonably warm haha

  9. For some reason, wearing a maxi in the winter has never occurred to me! I love this and the layering! Also diggin' that you've been doing more fashion lately. You're definitely killin' it. As for being a fashion blogger during the winter, it sucks and I spend the most of the time screaming and whining. I have no idea why I do it. haha.
