Memorial Day Happenings

So, Eric and I had a pretty uneventful Memorial Day planned until one of the regulars at the bar I work at told me about the Erie SeaWolves game. Mondays are dollar days, meaning everything is only a dollar and since it was Memorial Day, what else did we have to do? Since we've never been we thought it'd be a great first trip and it was! We enjoyed watching the SeaWolves play against the Altoona Curve (a Pittsburgh Pirates double-A affiliate team), drank some crazy cheap beer, ate hot dogs and soaked in the sun.

It was a great way to spend our first Memorial Day away from the traditional Ellwood City parade and picnic that we are used to. Maybe a new tradition? At least it will become a frequent stop during the summer. I didn't take many pictures because I'm horrible at remembering that I'm a blogger apparently. Hope you all had a great day. And of course, thank you to those who have and are serving. A special shout out to my blogger friend, Jess, who is in the Navy and who is an amazing young woman. I hope you had a wonderful day, sweet girl. Thank you.

  1. AA or AAA ball games are the best. You can still get a great game at a fraction of the MLB price tag. It looks like you had a great weekend. Have a wonderful week. :-)

  3. Very nice. Love that ballpark,

@Kelly Rodriguez- Sacramento is the A's Triple A team and they have about the same prices as Oakland does, plus Sac-town adds $2 to the ticket price if you buy the day of the game.

It sounds like you guys had a great Memorial Day, though! :) Love soaking up all that sunshine, myself, and hot dogs are a perfect Memorial Day food ;)

  7. You can never go wrong with baseball games. It's America's favorite pastime after all, no? Even though we live near Pittsburgh, my husband loves visiting smaller teams, too. (The Altoona Curve, in particular.)

  9. Wow. Ummm....don't know what to say?! But well, we could have gone to a baseball game together if we lived in the same city because that is what Scott and I did! I visited my fam in L.A. and we went to see the Dodgers play Cincinatti. It almost was a no-hitter game! Ugh, I can't believe it! Oh well. At least the Dodgers won. =) I'll talk to you later, friend!

I can't think of a more American way to spend Memorial Day than at the ballpark! we have a minor league team in Nashville too and I think they run a similar dollar day promo, def on my list for the summer. I love your new scarf! thinking I seriously need some patriotic gear for the 4th coming up.
